St Mark's Church, Carterton.

Annual MootingThe aunual meeting of St. Mark's Church was held at Carterton on Friday evening last, The proceedings opened with tho reading of reports and balancd sheets by the Eev. Mr Ballachey, and Messrs Richards, Brann ai,dßatlibone.

'Mr Brann the local Treasurer, to I the General Church Fund, reported that £195 had been raised during the yeai, JJlßß.being subscriptions aud donations, and M from offertories. The debt of £4B at the end of lust | year was now reduced to £23.

| Mr Rupt, Fakbrother proposed, aud Mr fiathbonc seconded, that this meeting agree that the assessment bo raised £lO, making it £lB5 instead ol £175. This was carried after an animated discussion.

Votes of thanks were passed to the Churchwardens, Jjadies' sewing bee, local treasurer, Sunday School teachers, organist and choir, -retiring vestry, Mr Seed as auditor, and to Mr Downard for his energy as Secretary for the gift auction. Tho Eev Mr Ballachey nominated Mr Flux as .Minister's Churchwarden. Mr Richards was elected-Parishioners' Churchwarden, and the following Vestry was appointed .-Messrs Brann, Rupert I'airbrother, Anderson, Downard, Tucker, Lundqvist, Rathbono. Mr I? W II Sootf was chosen as auditor.

This raeoting then being oyer, Mr Riohards took the chair for the purpose of vccoiving uomiuations for the election of Synodsnian. Mr Rupert Fairbrothor was unanimously elected.
