In tbo course of the debateMr Gladstone gavo the Marquis of Salisbury : unqualified oredit for the spirit in which he had negotiated the agreement, which he thought would be generally benefioial. Mr J. 0. Williamson, of offered Mr ..and Mrs Kendall itiSPOy for an Australian tour. The oner was, however, declined on the ground that a provincial tour pays better. July 25.
