The men say if the owners do not wish to do the work themselves they should let it by contraot to a body "of men who will then divide the profits. The men assort that they are determined to resist the introduction of 'fneVnow syßtem by all means at thoir ooramand, and get rid of the stevedores and take the work diroot from the owners.

The action this morning was taken on their own responsibility, but they were assured they will be supported by tho .union, k mass meeting of the men is being held to determine the course of action..
