RABBIT BOARD

.The usual monthly meeting of the North Wairarapa Babbit Board was held in the office of the Sheep Department yesterday. Present-Messrs Bectham (in the chair), Maunsell, Moore, Groves junr,, and Murray. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, INSKOTQB 10 TUB HOARD. "A letter was read from the Babbit Department,. stating that if the Chief Inspector approved, the Board could appoint Sub-Inspector ; Smith as Inspector to the' Board by paying half his salary, A lengthy disoussion ensued on the subject, the geueral opinion of members, being that the Board should appoint its own Inspector, Mr Maunsell, moved " That the Board appoint its own Inspector, the appointment to be terminal by three months' notice on oither side," Mr Groves seconded,. Mr Murray moved as an amend-

ment that the Board appoint an Inspector and Bub-Inspeotor. He was convinced that one man could not undertake the work. Mr Moore seoonded p'o/oma. The amendment was put and lost, and the motion declared carried. The Board then went into Committee to consider the applications. Sixteen applications were received for the position.' - After a long discussion, it was moved by, MivMaunsell that Mr Orbell be appointed Inspector.This motion was not, ••howevor, seconded. ; : .
