Two thousand postmen have resolved to postpone the' threatened strike in consequence of tlio London Trades Council having oiTored them assistance within 12 days, The Postmaster-General has .reinstated the men siu'po'n'dod for having attended a meeting of the union,
The postmen will not strike pro. vided tho blacklegs are not employed, The Trades and Labor,. Council .will in the-meantime negotiate with Mt Cecil ttnikes and endeavour'to. peruade him to recognise the right of tho men to hold meetings. 7?he Council will also ask that the men who have been dismissed beretjnatated, that the rate of wa»es' be fixed and that the men be allowed to form a union, Considerable excitement wflscaused at the Post Olce by the sorters belonging to the union expelling thirty jbUcklegs, :
