DARING ROBBERY.

Melbourne, Juno 24. Another moat daring iind impudent robbery was oommitted at the Commercial Bank on Saturday morning. Just before noon a Chinese merchant named Tye Shing,, who carries on, business at ■ 242, Little. Lonsdale' Htreet,- went to tho head office of the Commercial Bank, in Collins street, to cash a oheque for £248, which he required for business purposes. The money waß handed over to him in gold, as requested, arid; lie - placed it in a small canvas bag whiou he had with li'im, He was tying the mpath of the bag, when a young man touched him on: the s.iouider, and asked liim if he had dropped a piece of paper on the floor. Tyo Shing turned round to look at the paper, and as he did so released-his hold on the bag for half a minute. The piece of paper in question proved to bo worthless, and when Tyo Shing turned to take up bia bag of gold to his amazement he. found that it had disappeared. Tho alarm was immediately raised, but as it was a very busy time at the Bank, and all the oustomers were in a hurry, the thief succeeded in making speedy, departure, without any euspioion attaching to him. The matter was at once reported to _ the, detective police, who do not expect; however, to succeed in discovering the culprit.
