SCHOOL CONCERT.
At concert was giveu at Eketahima on Tuesday evening last by children attending tho state school in that town, This being the first concert of the kind given by the pupils, was greeted with a crowded house, and everything went off without a hitob. The lengthy programme was carried through in a creditable manner, each item meeting with considerable applause, Tho Swedish drill by the boys; the Burlesque Band, by school ohoir ;. Aldiberohtiphoscophonia Chronontontbologos; the recitations, eßpecialy Concentration, and tho instrumental picoes were each deserving of speoial mention. The acoompauiments were ably rendered by Mr Wardlaw, The following is tho programme submitted;— Part I,—lntroductory remarks by ohairman; an address, " Our Entertainment," Jane Anderson; overture (piano)," The Battle of Sedan," J, Mead; school Bong, " The Hero," school choir; recitation, "Speech by a Little Girl," M. Lie," 0, Auhn; overture (piano), "The Heather Bells," John Mead; gymnastics, " Swedish Drill," school boys; dialogue (girls), " When a Woman I am," school girls; song,. " The Burlesque Band," school baud.
