This practically amounts to both losing the inatoh, that is to say, neither can count it, and the other outside teams benefit thereby. Carterton protests against this, and says the fact ' of Masterton forfeiting constitutes & win to them. This phrase is still held in abeyance by the Union, in tho evont of a closo finish in the Cup matches and this point being still unsettled, Carterton, it is understood, will appeal to the English Bugby Union.
