Mr J. Willis' resignation of the headmastership of the Mangaono sobool was. accepted. The Masterton School Committee wrote requesting the Board to recommend to • the Education Department that there should be a greater uniformity observed iti tbe Use of, class books in. all sphopls under the supervision of the Board. It wps decided to forward the communication to the Department, "with an intimatjop that so far as proficiehoy Wiis coiigepied pjformity in class books wp observe!. '■ '"' g: : It was decided that the -architect should be requested to prepare plans for additional accommodation at Taueru, and that the teaoher's residence at the same place should also be placed in repair.

Mt Young moved the follbwing rosolutiou, which was ordered to .bo insetted on the records of the Board: " The Board ia deeply sensible of the loss which the service "has sustained by the death of Mr. Badland, for many years master of the Waihenga school. He was one of ; the first teachers appointed ~by the Board, and one of the very, best appointments ever made. He had always been a cheerful; conscientious and thoroughly efficient teacher, and he leaves behind him an unbroken record of successful work. - Had his health permitted, he would long ago have held a rooie important post." .
