School Committee Reform.
Sir,—l noticed in your issue of the 16th inst. some references to a school committee, not twenty miles | from Masterton, whose members are unmarried and' therefore not fit (according to your correspondent),to assume the .responsibilities, of the position, I could mention one school not 20 miles from Masterton, composed principally of unmarried men, butwho notwithstanding had to assume"the responsibilities in order to put theaflfaira of the soliool into a decent condition. After themostgross mismanagement at the' bands of fathers and grandfathers oi families, whose joint conduct had placed the school in a very unenviable position, and .whose several titles to' the designation of " numskull" is indisputable,'your correspondent asks, "why do parents eleot over-grown boys to asohoolcommittee?". The ajiswej!. is plain.. These over-grown bpys are .capable- men, whose conduct jJpspi;ye|'and, ijceiyed the ■ spf a.
