Death of an old Resident.

\ Nelson, Monday. Dr Greenwood, a very old Bottler, and formerly Sergeant-U-Arms, died at Motueka yesterday, aged 87, " . Fire at Wanganui.

Wakganui, Monday/ A fire oh Sunday morning in the Avenue, destroyed a block of buildings occupied by Jones, tailor; Johnston and Co., of Wellington, lnoroli'ants; Beale_ and Ho., sewing machinist, It originated in Jones' workroom. The adjoining places are damaged. TJe insurances are:—Jonea, £4OO, New Zealand; Johnston, l A'B6O, National; Bealo,'£2oo, Standard ; buildings £250 each, National having ifiOO, and London and Lancashire £260. Goldsbury, the manager for BealeandOo, escaped with nothing but what he stood in,and loses everything. _..-■'
