Dr MoLbTSISh moved that a vote of thanks be accorded to Mr Beetham for tho trouble ho had taken ro the railway, and that ho be requested to use his best endeavors to get the through train on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Seconded by Mr Bennett and carried unanimously. A vote of thanks to tho Chairman concludedthe meeting. ' Compensation to Publicans. Disorderly Meeting. •■• Sydney, Saturday. A most disorderly mooting took, place last night over a compensation! question. It was called in the first instance by the Sydnoy licensed victuallers for the purpose of protesting against non-payment of compensation to publicans, but tho local optionists turned up in foico, took possession of the meeting, and passed an amendment in favor ot local option with no compensition.Matters became so serious at one time that the police had to form a cordon to separate the two parties.
