. Tho steamer Monowui, which arrived to-day from the South, was open to thopublio to-night, when a largo number inspected tho vessel. An admission fee was charged, the proceeds to be given in aid of the Blind Fund.
A farewell dinner was given at the Auckland Club to Captain Olive, late secretary,on the occasion of his departure for Sydney,
Dunedin, June 9.
Tho art gallery in connection with the Exhibition was sold to-day for £1250, and will be used 'iufa grain store. .
The action which wa3 commenced in connection with the letting'of the Uity Hall for n Sunday concert on the visit of. tho opera company recently, has been withdrawn, the owner of the hall stating that ho will not let it again. ■ At a meeting of the Caversham Licensing Committee, the Chairman informed the licensee of Iho Ayrshire Hotel that if lie persisted in -keeping a wrestling and boxing saloon behind the hotel his license would be refused. •
