The details of scoring, though meagre, will be of interest:—J. Perry, two tries, it. Gray, Day, and Holmwood, one try each. Chennells got over the line, but the try was disallowed,

Two solid silver medals, with handsome gold mountings, presented by Mr R, llireohberg (the popular skipper of the Masterton Football Club),'are now on view in Mr Jos, William's window. They are to be presented to the best back, and best forward of the season, tbe choice to be made by ballot,

The Masterton and Red Star Clubs have requested the Secretary of the Wairarapa Eugby Football Union to coyene a meeting of the management committee on Monday next to arrange the first round of tho cup matches, This should have been done a week ago, as tbe contests aro fixed to commence on the 14th inst,

The Times lias tho following from their Palmerston North correspondent Tho football match between Palmerston and Misterton teams, which came off yesterday, resulted in tho defeat of the local representatives for tho first time this seaion, the visitors winning by four points to nil, made up by a goal, potted by C. Perry from tho field, and a try gained by Thompson (half-back,) Tbe play was fast and fairly good throughout, the teams being very equally matched! Palmerston played an emergency mail, who, to say the least, did not muoh help his side, and I • think, without wishing to take any credit from tho visitors, another rencontre might possibly reverse tho position, On the Masterton side, tho Perrys (O, and H.) and Thompson played all well as backs, and I may say one and all did fairly good work. For Palmerston, Nowtli, Jaokson and Stallard (backs) all played exceedingly well, and among the forwards Hyland, Oliphant, and Mowlem worked well for their sido. The umpires were Randal for Palmerston, and Perry for the visitors, Pratt acting as the referee, The game was played with the utmost good spirit, the decisions of the referee being in all cases accepted without a murmur, The visitors were entertained at a ball, given in the Skating Itink, when a very delightful evening, brought a most enjoyable day to a happy conclusion,

Our Carterton contemporary states that "Jim Owen, tho Whareama crack, went to Wolliugtonon Friday. Before leaying Tonui, Owen had telegrams from the Ponoke and Wellington Clubs asking him to play for them, but it is more than likely that he will throw io.' his lot with the latter Club. Jim will most likely don the red black and yellow for tho Masterton Club in their match against the Ponokos on Saturday noxt."
