Wellington Land Board.
The monthly meeting of the Land Board was hold yesterday. ; Present —Messrs Marohant (Chief Commissioner, Chairman), McCardle, Fitzlierboit.Macarthur.M.H.E., &Bunny. The schedule of lands sold showed that since last meeting 8278 acre 3 16 perches had beeti diaposed of at an ' upset price of .£6856 19s lid. A schedule of transfer capitalisations, etc., approved by the Commissioners ; waß affirmed. The' transfer of Scotion 47, Block X, Pqbangina, from J E W de Bidder, to a suitable person, was approved, With regard to the transferof Section 16, Block 71.1, and 22, Block YI, Mangahao, from J Beaumont to T and W Gilbert, it was resolved to obtain definite proof that Mr Beaumont leaving the district before agreeing to the transfer. The transfers of Section 65, Block 1, Makuri, from A P Mason to D Beichenback, and of Section 8, ' Blook XIII, Mangahao, from-F • Malcolm to H Baker were approved, Bubject to a certificate being received! \ that all required improvements have been effected, With reference to the application to transfer Section 51, Blook VIII, Mangahao, from H RatseytoN Beetham, it was resolved not to approve, as sufficient reason had not been advanced for a transfer so soon a3 the land was obtained. Applications to capitalise were approved as follows: H H Knight, Seotion 22, Block XV, Mangahao; R. Stewart, Sections 8 and 10, Block I, Mangaone. It was resolved to allow selectors of separated sections in one lease to effect all improvement one section. The application of J D Waller to be allowed to convert perpetual lease, Section l.Block XVI, Mangahao, into a deferred payment section, was granted. Tho following selectors wrote asking that their applications for revaluation be again, considered ;—M Nikon and Svensson, Sections 5 and O.BlockXL, Mangaone; WBMathjfc/ 1 son,Bectionl,BlockVll.,Mangaones ' J H Ming, Seotion 22, Block Wairoa; and D Kitchen, jun,, Bectio!i]J|r 1 81, Block 111., Wairoa. Consideration 1 of the applications was deferred, The Banger submitted a report of the Woodville-Mangahao Special Settle--1 ment Block, which it appeared that the area inepected was 6256 acres; the area required to be cultivated was 625 acres, at a cost of £1298. The " area actually cultivated was 885 acres, at a cost of £916., The total amount spent in cultivation and ! other improvements was £8242. Out of 50 selectors only one appeared | to be much in arrear with the 1 required improvements. The Board 1 considered the report a satisfactory 1 one, and it was decided to issue 1 notices to those selectors in arrear * with their improvements. Proposals 1 from tho Waitotara County Counoil and Kiwitea Road Board for expend- ' ing acbrued thirds, were approved. 1 It was decided to cancel the interest ' of the licensee in Section 71, Blook X, Mangaone, and to.re-offer the 1 section.for sale, The Commissioner 1 submitted a list of selectors' to WhomA--1 ho had granted time to effect irfr [ provemenls, which was approv ' Tho Commissioner submitted plans 1 and schedules of sections in the i Ngaturi township, together with 1 proposals for the sale of the same. ! It was resolved to offer the seotionß \ under the Acts of 1885 and 1888 as ' a village settlement, prices to be . 1 from £7 to £ls. The Under-Secre- ■ tary for Crown Lands forwarded a ruling of the Ministor as to the courso to be pursued to obtain 1 possession of a forfeited deferredpayment seotion when the late licensee cannot be found. The Board decided to adopt the ruling. The ' Board adjourned until the 28th May, at noon,.
