SIR,—IThere 1 There has been considerable _ enquiry in this and surtoutidmg districts about these boots with wooden solos (which a Christchurch firm advertise every winter in the columns ot your papers), they are tpokenof as being far superior to leather soled boots for winter wear, bein? lighter, warmer, cheaper, and lost longer than any other kind of boots for the wet and'cold weather, If all I have heard about them is true they must be just the thing fur persons suffering from cold and damp feet. They are also said to be a sure cure for chilblains, which of itself is worth knowing. Could you, Mr Editor, inform your humble servant, and also the largo and eyor increasing number of subscribers to your paper, if the said firm still have and do manufacture the above kinds of boots, if so, what is their address, By onquirihg into th'o above and answering theßame in your'columns, you will greatly oblige, yours 4c,, One who wants warm feet in the WINTER. [ln answer to tho above we can endorse all that is said about the good qualities of the wooden soled boots, commonly called Clogs, and would recommend anyonesuffering from cold or damp feet, or those who have to be out in the wot and mud to purchase a pair of the above.
