DESTRUCTIVE FIRE.

' ;> Hokitika,Thursday. , '•A'dcatraotivo"lii , o occurred in Revell street this niorning. ; By the.time the firebell gave the alarm, the fire had obtained a good hold of the Duke of Edinburgh theatre, and in spite of. the efforts of the brigade, rapidly spread to oilier buildings iu the ' block, and, aided by a land breeze, 1 , crossed tho stroet, destroying Schaof's upholsterer's shop, and ■ Sargiaoa'a bakery. The Club Hotel was saved, though considerably; damaged, as was also Hawkins' bakery. The buildings destroyed fire Theatre, Levy's store, Westland hotel, Pollock's (tobacconist) Ogilvio's stables aiid house, and three unoccupied cottages, Schaef's .upholstery, and Sargison's bakery The insurances and origin aro unknown
