A special meeting of the Bank oi New Zealand to-day confirmed the resolution of the 18th February, amending tho deed of settlement as required by tho decision to remove the head oflico to London. Drowning Case. -Lvttelton, March 24, The Maggie, whaleboat, belongiug to Fitzsimmons Bros,, was taken out early on Sunday morning by two young fellows named John Carter and William Thompson, who intended to go fishing towards the Heads and return in the evening. Thompson had a dog with him, which returned i,his evening with its feet badly scratched,. as if by 1, walking over shjirp rocks. This fact and the storm of Sunday night caused alarm, and a tug wont down the harbour this afternoon to search for the missing boat. She wont outside and round to Sumner, but could find no' trace of' it or the ceew. Two other fishing boats were found taking, shelter under' the lee of the high cliffs at Port Cooper, and wore taken in tow by the tug. Mr E. Pleasant, \vho was in one b,oat, reports passing the Maggie on Sunday night, near JJipS, Island, - Heavy squalls ; cape on, and:just "aftepward the' Maggie passed Peasant's boat again with the sails up.
