The Eketaliuna Football Club held their first meeting of the season at Mr Jones' Temperance Hotel on the 13 th inst, Mr Selby was voted to the chair. Mr E. Dubois stated that the Club had" a balance jn hand from last season; working committee'' was'formed of Messrs Tumor,. Dowsett, Biggins, Ashmore, W, Dowsett,'. Atkinson, Monday, Martin, and Murdock, Mr Si. Dubois was elected secretary and | treasurer. The meeting instructed the, secretary: to write and ask Mr llolme3 Warren to become President, aud Mr Selby was elected ViceI President. It was decided that tho I subscription 'remain tho'same iab lssb year,.namely 'ss.' The-match committee elected were. Messrs I Tumor, 'Dubois, and'Dowsett. Several of tho members present staled that; they had heard that both Pahiatua and Weodvil'q wero anxious "to foriii a Forty-Mile Bush Union. The Secretary said he had received no com-' munication yet from either Pahiatua or Woodville on tho subject up to date, but it : had been mentioned to him by one or two of the members of .the Pabiatto Football Club, It was moved that the Secretary bo instructed to write to" tho above Cllubs aud make full-inquiry, The Secretary was. likewise instructed to procure two dozen copies .Of the now Eugby Rules. The Match Commit' tee. were instated'to interview Mr' Pai'sons 1 with; respect t6 his ground and the improving 6f • the same. , It was 'proposed and ' unaniMpusly carried, that a ball bo given in aid of. the Club on Easter.. Monday, 7th April, and-a' Committee was'..'appointed to • carry out the same. SeVeialnew-.mombers'.were-enrolled, after which the meeting closed, ' ; At'a'meeting of.tbe .Cricket Club held on ~tho li)thf Mr.' elected; secretary and treasurer., The following team play against Mastei'ton on.
