\ The ordinary monthly meeting of tho aboye Board was held in the offices this morning, ■ there being present Messrs W, Bcotham, (in the chair), Dagg, Stuckcy, ami Buick,
Tho minutes of tho last ordinary aud special meetings were read and confirmed, and tho report of tho Financo Committee was read aud adopted,
The tender of Mr Gardner for road making at Matahiwi and Lower Mauaia, and £2917s and £l9 respectively was accepted. Correspondence was read from Mr White.Howkharst, asking that repairs be made to a roadieading to his properly, and requesting payment for urgent work carried out by himself, On tho motion of Mr Dagg, seconded by Mr'Buiok, it was decided that the road in question-be put in repair for horse traffic, at a cost not exceeding £lO, and that Mr White be informed that he should have applied to the Board before making repairs. Prom Chief Surveyor, stating that the survey of an authorised survoyor would be accepted for roads within tho district.passing through Crown grantstiotmatured. It was decided that Mr Frozi be asked to give an estimate of the cost, and that the Government be ssked to provide tho necessary funds.' " '. "
From a number of ratepayers in tho Masterton-Kangituiiiatidistrictaskinpr that steps be taken to provide a loan for a road through sections in that district, The prayer of tne petition was granted. From R, Bright junr. applying for a road to his property, Miki Miki, After some discussion it was decided that the list letter ofthe Board to Mr Bright be referred to in a further communication to that gentleman, and that if he dwireß.further information he be invited to interview the "Board personally, , (Left Sitting,)
