Another Gaol Escapes
Wanoanui, Friday, A prisoner, named Thomas Johnston, awaiting trial for • forgery at Marton, ■ escaped from gaol' this at ; 9,30. lie had' been "working in a carpenter's shop with a fellow-prisoner, but was left by himself for a few minutes looked in by the gaoler. . Tho other prisoner working in the gaol saw Johnston making his escape, and after somo delay gavo word to the gaoler, who at once rushed out, but Johnston had a good start and was soon lost to sight.
