Garsel, under cross examination, admitted that he had been specially instructed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands to bring the case, Mr Carruth urged a number of technical objections to , tbo regulation under which the infor- ) tnatiou was laid, The Benoh adjourned I the case until the Bth of Marob.
MINING. Greymouth, Feb. 8, There is a steady increase in the coal output .of late. The export of coal products.during last neck was 8701 tons, Next week promises to be-even larger. The protracted dry weather is injuriously ■ affecting mining operations thronghout the district. Attempted 'Suicide. Dunedik, February 9. The charge of attempted suicide aginst Maude Brooko was dismissed on account of the expense involved in committing her for trial. Bui'gulary..
