A meeting of the School Committee was held in the sohoolroom on Monday evening. The chairman opened the meeting in duo form. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, aftor which tlio Jubilee Coinmitteo laid their report of the children's jubilee sports and picnic before the meeting. In the absence of Mr Copping, lion, see., Mr Parsons, the treasurer, read the report. The subscription lists showed a total of £l2 9s, Tho following aro" the amounts collected by the different gentlemen hdldltigsubscriptions lists: -MrT. Parsons £8 17s Gd; Mr H. Aulin £2 lis 6d; Mr D.Toohill 10s; Mr Fuloher 10s; Mr J, Jones 5s Cd, The total expenditure was £1215s lip,; thus leaving a deficit of 6s IJ|. This Mr Poimey generously offored to make good,thus successfully winding up the whole affair, Considering the idea was not started until a few daya before the jubilee, great praise is due to the committee for eflfovt to make tho affair a suooess, niid likewise to those gehtlemen wljo so ably aided them, , .'. '

for the ensuing twelve months, one from E. Murrell, £lB, and one from L, Frederioksen, JBll; It was decided to accept the lowest tender. , : A letter was readfrom Mr Fraser, of Wellington, asking for the Committee's vote for the Education Board, .
The Committee decided to vote for the following candidates, Messrs Hawkins, Buohauan and Bunny at the coming election of the Education Board. The sohool report for the month was as follows; Number on tho roll 128, highest attendance 90, average S2. , The Chairman stated he had received a letter that same evening from Mr Dorset, stating that lie had written to Mr Penney, giving him an opportunity to tender bis resignation .with a view to his immediate removal. It was decided to discuss this matter at their next meeting. ■ The following accounts were passed for payment: Mr Jones Is Gd, tmma Murrell £1 5s 6d, Mr Biggins 4s, Thi3 closed the business for the eveuiug, CRICKET, The following te,am has been picked to represent Eketahunaagainst Masterton on Saturday Bth, Messrs Selby, • Tumor, Trapp, Motennon, Dubois, Yates, Beaufort, Dowsett, Cooper, Fraser, and D'Arcy.
