Mr Mackay moved and Mr Hogg seconded "That a memorial be drawn up by this Committee to be signed by the general, public, calling upon the public Park Trustees to refund the £5 charged for tho uso of the Park on Jubileo Day."

Mr Chisholm moved and . Mr. Hornblow seconded as an amendment " That the Secretary be instructed to write on behalf of tho Committoo and ask the Trustees for a refund of the £s,paid. :■. 0 ;.,., •. TheCliairmaiiwas'atronglyopposed to Mr Mackay's motion, us such a oourso would be outside the Committee's duties. A majority, of those present also, opposed the motion.' Mr Hogg then moved as a further amendment"That a respectful memorial be addressed to the public Park. Trustees by this Committee requesting them to refund the oharge of .£5 for tho uso of tho Park."

Mr Mackay then withdrew his proposition in favor of the latter amendment, which on being put to tho meeting was carried.' Tho matter was warmly disouased on both sides, and although the meeting expressed itself iu favor of a refund of the money already paid to the .Trust, they wore not willing to prepare a memorial for publio signature.

The mutters of accounts were left over until Monday evening.
