At a meeting of the Australasian Society for the Advancement of Science, papers wero read by Professor Mutton, of Ohristchurch, on the' .iscclliitions 'of the earth's surface, and by Professor Thomas, of Auckland, on biology.' Thri Government intend to offer a prizo of £BOO for a cheap cooling chamber for butter-anil cream during the summer months. It is also intended to consider the desirability of arranging for consignments of potatoes to London.
