ATTEMPTED SUICIDE AT TE WHITI.

At 4 80 this morning a message was brought to the Musterton. Police Sialion that David Laird, a rabbitor at Mr H, S, rYardell'a stotion, Te Whiti, bad attempted to oouiuiit suicide by taking a dose of arsonio.' Dr Boird, accompanied by a constable and the messenger, rodo out to Te Whiti, and found tbo poor fellow in great agony. The usual remedies were applied, but the hopes of the man's ultimate recovery are but slight, Further particulars cannot be obtained until D', Beard's return. David Laird died at 11 o'clock from tbo effects of poison. An inquest will be hold at Mr Wardell's at 2 o'clock to-morrow,
