The Fatal Accident at Blairlogie.
TO THE EDITOII. Sm.—ln your issue of the 80th inst., I noticed under heading "Accident to an old Settlor." "Tho first to notice him lying on the. road was tho East Coast mailman who jumped of his horse, had a look and thonroadon." Now this is not correct, and I think casts reflections on the mailman that'are not deserved. "What really did tako place was this the'; Mailman met a horse .with saddlo and bridle on close to where was a man at work, The roadman caught the horse and theMailmau thinking likely the horse had got away from some one at Carswell's said he would lead him back, he had not gono far when he found a man who has since turned out to be Mr D, Morrispn.lyiug on tho side of the road, he turned and called; the roadman who came, and. on arrival seemed to recognise an acquaintance. -Tho Mailman said as you know him I will leave his horse with you, and aught to (jet on : with the'mails. Shortly after Urquhart came along • and recognised the
injured man as Mr Morrison, The roadman said if that is tbo case yovu, had better hurry to Blairlogio and tell them to send the buggy for him at once, But he was eventually conveyed to Carswell's by Mr A. MoPheo, who took all necessary steps for Mr-Morrison's beneCt. I only write thiß because I think an unmerited imputation. has been, cast on the Mailman,—l am etc.
