Masterton v> Carterton
The first mutch of the season was played between the above clubs on Saturday aftomoon at Carterton, and ended in a win for Mustertoii by twenty runs. Messrs 'J. W. Perry anil 6. KinK captained the teams, Messrs Bono and T. Kirablo acting as umpires, The pitch was lair, hut played a bit treacherous, Carterton went in first and put together VG ; Acoclts 10, Truer 15, and Docohey l'i, being the 'highest scorers, the latter getting halt his score for ono hit, Jlaslertou responded with 96. Iggulden and T. McKenna made things pretty lively while they were together, putting on CO runs between them, D'Arcy made It, getting 12 for tlireo successive hits. The day was very suitable for cricket,- and a most enjoyable game was the result. The following are the scores : Cartkhton-First innings, W. H.
