Sunday Liquor Trading.
Dunedis, November 7. In the Police Court to-day R. M, Johnston was charged with obtaining liquor from the licensee of the Universal Hotel during prohibited bows' by falsely representing himself as a traveller. He was fined 80s and costs, or four days, A second charge in another hotel, arising out of tlio saute case, was dismissed, as his condition was such that he could not realise the importance of the question. The licensee of the Universal Hotel was convicted'and fined JS3 and costs for supplying Johnston with drink. Robert AleKensde was fined £5 each on two charges of supplying Johnston with liquor during prohibited hours, and supplying him with liquor when drunk, the magistrate ordering both convictions to be endorsed on the license on account of the unsatisfactory evidence of the licensee.
