Mr Ballance Explains. Wanganui, November G. Mr Ballauce complains of inaccuracies in his report forwarded through the Colony of his Napier meeting, and asks that the following corrections should be made:— 1 11 Inspecting the ihtended reduction in the wages of railway men, the report sayslt had been divulged to him privately that Ministers had appointed the Railway Commissioners to do what they dare not do themselves, reduce the rate of wages all over tho Colony in tho interest of the landed classes," What Mr Ballance said on the point was that lie had rcceivod private information, which was absolutely reliable, that the Commissioners had intended to reduce the rate of wages of tho employes after the close of the sessioii, audthat it was in consequence of this information that he (Mr Ballance) brought the subject before the House. The private information did not oel'er to the Ministers, but solely to the expressed intention of tho Commissioners, He also points out that the vote was not merely one of thanks, but, "That this meeting records a very hearty vote of thanks to Mr Ballance, and expresses its satisfaction with the views ho has enunciated on the leading political questions of the day."
