EB. Agricultural Show.
Tlio Agricultural and Pastoral Society's Show was opened to-day, being as usual on the first day confined to sheep. The number yarded was not so great as last year, but there was a decided improvement in quality, especially in longwools. All the merinos were locally bred, the honours being divided between Douglas McLean, Royse, and Anderson, managers of the Milboume and Wobum stations. In Lincoln thcro were imported sheep, but only one received a first in its class, and it was beaten for the section championship. More Marsh and Down sheep wore shown than on any previous occasion. The frozen meat trado requirements have led flookowncrs to experiment with other crosses than the once universal Lincoln merino. In Liucolns, Lotvry, J. M. Williams, and F. Sutton were tho chief prizetakers. In Cotswolds, (J. D. Hamilton; in Eomnoy Marsh, G. Wheeler, of Fielding, 11. Cobb, of Palmerston, and A. Harding; in Southdowns, Nelson Bros.
