Terrible Earthquakes.

Thursday Island, Sept. 23,

A terrible earthquake took placo at Kunmnioto, in Japan, on August 29th, Thero wero fifty-three shocks altogether, Thirty-ono houses rae demolished and fifteen persons killed, 1 Bridges were destroyed and rents opened in tho ground in fifteen places.

News from China states that tho Marquis Tseng is seriously indisposed.
