THE Kokatau Mystery.

THE BODY FOUND. Gaiitkrton, Thursday. The body of the child Thompson, lost at Kokatau a few weeks ago, has been found on tlio other side of the trig statinn, on Carter's property some miles from the scene of its disappearance. P, .Crewe, who discovered it, has just brought in the news. It was in a hole which prohaby had been dry, but is now full of water. EKETAHUNA.

(From Our Own Correspondent'!. Calling attention through our columns to tho fact that the Mangaono School was left without a teaohor since the holidays has had the dssired effect. The Rev Mr Tockoy to-day took temporary charge of the school ponding tho arrival of Mr Eolleston, from Canterbury, who has been permanently appointed to the position. In consequence of the small attendance of members of the Ekctahnna Debating Society at the last meeting no business was done, the members deciding to adjourn for one week. Mr Dawson, contractor, for the Makabhi bridge, has, to-day, (Wednesday) made a start with the work. If I may judge by thonumhorof men employed, the contractor will (everything bemg'favorable), completo tho work in tho specified time. The weather still remains unsettled but rather colder than it has been for some time, tho windblowing from the south-west,
