A Member ot the Water Supply Committee Speaks Out (To tho Editor.) Sir—A great many of the borough ratepayers residing outside of Queon street aro under tho impression that tho members of tho Council have prevented the completion of tho wator supply. I may state emphatically that such is not the case. Some months ago a meeting of Queon street ratepayers was held, and a committee formed and deputed to wait upon the .Borough Council, and after a hard viight succeeded in getting their 'permission to uudertako tho work of introducing water through the main street, do far all went well, but Mayor Renall having the koy to the water would not hand it oyer to the Committee, and our only hope was to acoept the Mayor's generous offct to superintend and complete the work, which ho assured us ho would finish in a short time. The result of his promise is manifest. The members •* of tho Water Supply Committee, f being powerless to take tho work out of tho Mayor's hands, for somo timo had to look on and smile, Some two months ago we mutually disbanded, feeling that the Mayor did not intend to carry out his promise. All the members of the committee, who some months ago supported tho Mayor, aro now determined to vote against his party. On the same grounds I have decided to. oppose tho Mayor's party tomorrow.
