Taratahi-Cartaton Road Board-

Tho ordinary monthly meeting of i the Board was held on Saturday. Present; Messrs H. Bunny (Chair- '• man), J, Raynor, E, W. Dorset, N. Grace, Jas, Stevons, E, Morgau W. 13. Allen and G. W. Dellar. Tho minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Treasurer reported a debit balance of £IBO. CORRESPONDENCE, From C. Deihl re clearing govae from the road, stating that he did not consider himself Untie, as he did not originally plant the gorso. The wardens thought that it was rather hard on tho present owner, but at the same timo they did not see their way clear to exonerate him. Resolved that Messrs Oats have notice to clear the gorso away from the road as referred to in Mr Delhi's lotter, From Mr Potts re tramway Belvedere. Resolved that he bo informed the Board has no objection to the tramway so long as it is done to the approval of the warden for No 6 ward. From Mr 0, R. Carter re gravel pit, Ordered to stand over till the next meeting. From Messrs Booth re taking gravel from the creek running through their proporty,also to removing the fence along the Gladstone road, Resolved that tenders be invited for removing t]io sapic, and that the matter be left in the hands of the Chairman and Mr Grace "to arrange with Messrs Booth. Moved by the Chairman and seconded by Mr Stevens that the cost of the said fenco he allocated to Nos 1, ?, and 8 wards, Carried. Mr Dakin asked that all obstructions be removod from Woodland road, Some discussion transpired on the matter, and it wa3 stated that the road was virtually impassable, The Board did not consider tho application could he entcrlained. Mr Francis asked to be allowed to doposit stones from his land into a hole on Hughes'line, Tho matter-was left to the Warden to deal with. Prom Mrs MumiseH asking that Para (•oad be declared opened. Accounts amounting to £152 10s 4d' were passed for payment. The Chairman brought fliider tho notice of the Board tho necessity of repairing a bridge at Gladstone. The matter was left to ; the wardens, Mr Stevens asked that some repairs be executed on the Dale- , field road. . Left to the wardens of 5 and 6 wards. Mr Darroch wss ■ instructed to inspect the work done bv the contractor on the main road, | and the meeting terminated.
