A Progressive Borough.

7 (To the Editor.) Sir—l was much pleased on reading your articlo headed " A Progressive Borough," and I take it as one of the healthy signs of the times, I think all will agree with you that it would be an advantage to borrow and go on with tho works you mention at once, . so that we may immediately enjoy tho benefits of them, which we will do in moro ways than one. I believo public opinion is already ripe in this town for anything that would tend to improve the urgent sanitary require* fey ments of Masterton, aud I think it is time our city fathers oponed their eyes to the necessity of both water and drainage. I am, &c., George Haskell. Masterton, August 15.
