A number of Nelson ladies aro sending to London a largo quantity of clothing for Dr, Barnado's Home, A most extraordinary case is recorded by a Sydnoy exchange to havo occured recontly, Tho plaintiff, a respectable married person, went to tho shop of defended, a dentist, for tho purposo of ft- trying somo teeth wliieli she had ordered, They, however, did not fit, and slw refused to pay for thorn until they had been altered. Hereupon tho dontist became violent, nsing threats, and with tho assistance ot his housekeoper and servant, forcibly detained her from about 4 o'clock in the afternoon till nearly 11 o'clock at night, wheu sho was released upon paying the money which had been demanded. The plaintiff sought to recovor '£2oo damages for assult and slander, Tho jury found for plaiutiiY ivith £6O damages.
