After a heated . discussion, Mr Lornach gave notice to move for the appointment of acommittee to consider tho correspondence jointly with a Committee of the Legislative Council, to report in ten days, Tho Eepresentation Bill passed through Committee with amendments and in set down for consideration to day. ft A Naples correspondent of an English Tpaper writes that for several years there has existed in a remote district near Salerno an organised band of thieves and murderers, with a complete constitution and recognised chief like the Cumorra, They wore ready at a fair pr co to serve anyono who needed them atiany desperate exploit, To take af life only cost twenty francs. In tho year 1884 the captain of this band, a man named Mottola, assisted by his lieutenant, Antonio Tardio, who has now emigrated to America, disguised as friars, lay in wait near an old mill and killed an old man named Mandetta. Tho victim's son was suspected of tho crime and kept iu prison for a year and a half. A year ago Mottola murdered his superior, tho general of the band. Bnt this time ho was discovered ; and now, after a trial, during which he maintained tho utmost composure, has been condemned to death, together with his absent accomplice of tho first crime, Antonio Tardio.
