London, July 23. Sir H. B. Lock and family will leave Melbourne on Novouiber 16th in a special steamer for the Cape. If the,,Earlof Hopetoun, his successor, has not arrived by that date, Sir William Robinson will act in the interregnum.
The Earl of Hopetoun has entertained the Shsli of Persia at his estate in Linlithgowshire, A fine collection of British pictures will bo shipped by fi.M.S. Eimutaka for exhibition at the Now Zealand exhibition. Mr Parnell informed Hie TimesParnell Commission to-day that it was his belief that Egan took the Land League books to Paris.
