London, July 13th Before the Times-Parnell Commis. sion today Sir Charles Russell demanded the production in Court of the books of tho Patriotic Union, which he was willing should be shown to the Court, though not to political opponents, Sir James Hanncn, the President, declined to order the production of the books. Even if it were true that the Union had paid to promoto the present inquiry, still "tlio only question for tho Court to decide was whether the charges wero true. Sir Charles Russell replied that ho must confer with Mr Parnell as to the course he should follow in future. Thereupon the Court adjourned until Tuesday. It was reported that Sii Charles Russell has decided to withdraw from the case. This was howover, subsequently denied, A meeting of Mr Parnell's friends will bo hold on Monday to consider the course of action. The Pamellites contend that the books pf the Patriotic' Union will show that Pigott wrote "Pamellism and Crime."
July 14th. Continuing his evidence before the Times-Parnell Commission yesterday Mr O'Brien declared that the chief feature of the National League was the creation of a national fund to save evicted tenants from the workhouse.
The' Magdeburg sugar ring has collapsed. Geriijan beet sugar is emoted in London, at 21s'Gd.''
