Dunedw, July, A meeting of clothing manufactures was bald to-night, at which the principal firms were represented, when it was resolved to form an association, with the object of fixing a log or scale of prices, manufacturers binding themselves not to pay employes less than tbe price fixed. Regulations ore to be adopted disqualifying from employment those worlfing for manufaotarers not belonging to the Association,
Wairarapa Sheep Stealing Case. Probation Refused Wellington, Thursday. John Andrew Thompson, convicted of sheep stealing at tho criminal sessions has been sentonied to twelve months'fcatd labor. A petition for probation was signeil by 150 residents of Wairarapa, but the probation officer reported the man had been suspected of the same tiling on several occasions, and his Honor refused probation.
