General Meeting
A full meeting of delegates of the Wairarapa Eugby Union was hold at Carterton lost night, Mr F, W. E, Seed, vice President, occupied the chair,
Mr Whatman's resignation of office on the management committee was received, and Mr R, Hirschberg was appointed to the vacancy thus caused,
The Bed Star Club's protest against the To Ore Club being allowed to score a win in the match agaiust tho Star second fifteen, was upon the motion of Mr Board, not entertained.
Ik was decided that the Management Committee- should settle the protest of the lied Star Club regarding the Rival's win on the 29th June.
The Masterton delegates and the secretary, with power to add, were constituted a committee to arrange for the reception of the Native Team, who had expressed their intention of coming if their dates allowed. It was resolved that the match with this team should be played on the Bark Oval at Masterton if that ground could be obtained. A reception committee was appointed. The Union expressed its intention of sending a team to Canterbury, if possible, the secretary in tho meantime to enquire terms, The Secretary was instructed to usk the Wellington Union when they would send a team to the Wairarapa. A voto of thanks concluded the aieoting..
A committee meeting of the Union was subsequently held, The following allqcution and time table was arranged for the second round of the cup matches—July 13; Eivalsv Groytown at Greytown; Masterton v Stars at Mnsterton j Bival second v Te Ore Ore at Carterton. July 20: Rivals v Mnsterton atMasterton; Greytown v Stare on Star ground, July 27: Rivals v Stars at Carterton; Groytown v Masterton at Groytown. It was carried that the Star Club's protest of 29th Juno be not allowed, This concluded the business.

But that does nut represent the full emoluments of this prized post, to which gallant officots who lm\a borne the heat anil burden of the day hopelessly aspire. Tho Duke has LM2 a year for table money, L 55 allowanco for stationery, and tho precise sum of £U 15s us light allowance when at home. When on shore a careful jotmtry cats down his Royal Highness' candles to' an allowance at the rate of L 27 7s Gd per annum.
