Paris, June IG. The Grand Prize of Paris, of 4000 sovs, added to a sweep of 40 sovs each colts Bst lllb, fillies Bstßlb, 1' mile and 7 furlongs, (858 subs), was run to-day, with the following result :~ Mr H, Delamarre's bo Yasistns, by Idus-Veranda 1 M. 'Michel Ephrussi's ch c Pourtnnt, by duxifiage—La Papilloue 2 M. A. Lupin's b c Aerolithe, by . Nu>ut—Astreo ;. 3 Produce Market (Wellington Price Current). Flax.—Although London cables report a downward tendency in tho market for Neiv Zealand flax, millowners in this district are not disposed to sell under £l9 to £2O pet' ton, f.o.b, at Wellington. Apparently a few orders have been received from Home at limits about equal to theso rates; nnd this tends to steady the market. Those millers who have shipped on their own account since the beginning of the year and have obtained from £34 to £37 for'their flax prefer to continuo to take the risk of the market rather than accept local current rates. A fair amount of business is being done locally, but we regret to notice that a few brands have turned out decidedly inferior in quality, and we fear that Wellington shipments generally will suffer' in consequence. Flour • and aiura The active competition of American wheat in the Australian markets, has reduced our values for both wheat and flour. Quotations now rulo from LlO 10s to LIO 15s for roller mill, and L9los to LlO for stone-mill Hour. Milling wheat '3sßdlo3s9d,a decline of 3d to 4d per bushel. Fowls' wheat is in good supply at 3s 7d to 3s 8d for whole grain, and 3s 3d for screenings. Fowls' barley is in restricted demand at last rate of 2s lOd per bushel. Oats are improved in value by fully 2d per bushel, aad as holders seem inclined to stand for full prices, and Australian demand contines good, it is probable that rates will be maintained, and perhaps further enhanced. We quote good feed at 3s to 3s Id per bushel. Maize is in little or no demand at 3s Od per bushel, Oatmeal has advanced nearly &\ per-ton, and is now worth LIS 10s. Pollard and bran aro botli very scarce, and our last quotations of £5 for pollard and L 5 5s for bran are maintained.

Fungus—This market is still stag, unlit, The present quotations is 3Jper pound, with'no inquiry. Hides—The low prices now current seem likely to continue, In fact, it is a question whether still farther reductions mny not soon have to bo accepted, The stoppage of a large Canterbury tannery will doubtless tend to direct increased supplies to tins centre, which is'alread ovortocked An outside market, such as Australia or America, will probably need to be sought,

Hops—Nelson leaf of good sample is obtainable nt Is 2d to Is 3d per pound, but transaction are very limited, PiiovisiONS,—Hams and bacon are in steady demand, without change in values since our last report. Quotations aro Bd, for bacon, 9Jd, for hams, and 8£ for tho two in equal numbers. Ohoe.se continues to command ready sale at s|d per pound for prime factory niako. Butter is quiet, the demand for export having ceased for the present, tho Sydney market being well supplied, Potatoes are without any improvement from our lust quotations at 75s to 80s per ton. Onions are still in demand for export, and as stocks are running very low, the value has advanced to £ls per ton, There is but little local inquiry. Sheepskins,—Butcher's good crossbred have realised up to 3s 9d each, and beforo the end of the month 4s will probably be secured for skins from freezing sheep.

Tallow.—There lias been some local inquiry, and salea of good mixed are reported at from £lB to £lßlss per ton f.o.b. at Wellington. The London market• has been "rather fluctuating recently,- but the tendency appears to bo in the direction of better prices. Timber.—There is no chango to record in this line. The supply is abundant, and- damand. moderate, with little or no inquiry .for. export. Red pine: is quiet at 8s to Bs:6d'por 100.feet; white pine in good demand at 7s 6d to 8s; malai,'9s; totara, 13s Gd to'l4s; kauri, 18s to 19s; red pine flooring, 10s 6d; matai flooring, lis; kauri flooring, 21s, per 100 feet ;.fin. T. &G, lining—red pine, JOs; kauri, 18s, '". .
