A reply was received gran®* ing the sum o( seven shillings to Mr Ellison only, as that gentleman had to travel a considerable distance; to the other members nothing will be ' paid. What the upshot of this will be I don't know, .The public seem to • think that the Committee are-quite in the right. It-was suggested that the applicants subscribe the costs, Yes, said the constable, that will suit me, Bribery and corruption! The Committee have decided now to adjourn till next Thursday, 13th, as they expect a reply from the Counoil by then. .
