Wellington, Tuesday. The tender for tho direct mail service is on the same lines as the esjsting contract, the Government dp' npt.■poiisider it. particularlyi favorable to the colony, ' ■' There wi}l be a rearrangement of portfolios to a certain degree in a. few days, The Minister for Public Worljs haying very little to do, exqept with railways under construptian, will take the PostmasterGeneralship, and Mr Hislop the portfolio of Education.
The Government does not intend to propose any alteration of the Northern Trunk Line. Mr Mitchelson emrasse.l himself'in; ; favor of 'retaining;'"ffie pep|ra} jputej but thinks it unlikely any more contracts will be, let for the present, although £883,000 still remains of the million Joan.
