3 (From Our Own Correspondent,) ' May 10. , Tuesday was a busy day here, At t 10 o'clock a meeting of the subscribers | to the Alfredton-Mangaone library • waa held in Mr Macquarie's woolshed. The balance sheet and..annual report . were read and adopted. The followI ipg gentlemen ■.were elected office bearers President, Mr Kebbell; ' Vice-President, Mr Dunn ; Treasurer, Mr Benton; Secretary, Mr Dunderdale. A motion was agreed to that th'o library bo open for tho delivery of books on Sundays, ratepayers' meeting. At 12 o'clock, the annual meeting of ratepayers took place in the Road Board Offiw, Mr Kebbell presiding. The minutes of. the previous ratepayers' meeting were read and confirmed, and the balance sheet read and adopted. A motion was unanimously agreed to that it be an instruction to the Boad Board to get a report from the County Engineer on the rohtivo merits of the Alfredton-Mangamahoe and Alfredton-Eketabuna roads. Then followed a long and rather rowdy discussion on the question Phillips' v.
