Masterton Hospital.

The regular monthly meeting of the Hospital Truseees was held in tho Institute on Thursday. Present i ■—Messrs J. 0, Boddington (chairP. Perry, J. lorns.J. B. Tf Keith, and Rev. W. E. Page. - The minutes of the previous meoting were read and confirmed, and the Treasurer reported a oredit balance of !HO J2s 2d. The following correspondence was read: From U. Mawhinay, with reference to tho aotion of the Trustees in refusing to pay an aocount of 17s for firewood until ho paid the Bum of 20s owing by him for maintenance of bis son in the Hospital for one week, the account having been outstanding for over two years, and remarking upon the action of tho Trustees, Besolved, That Mr Mawhinay be informed in reply to his letter that bis account for firewood 17s would be

; paid immediately on his settling the ,*# account for £1 due by him, and that in default of settlement on or before Monday 18th inst, a summons for the amount due to the Hospital will be issued without further notice. The balance-sheet, duly pasied by the Audit Department, was returned «' the Auditor and Controller eneral. The father of a patient wrote, Btating that as he was out of work he could not at present pay what was due to tho Trustees. The Secretary was instructed to enquire into the matter. The Hospital diary was road. The Custodian'a report showed that since the last meeting three patients had been received into the Hospital, and two discharged; one fever case remained. Accounts amounting to £7 la 8d were passed for payment. A report, prepared by a sub-com-mittee with regard to collecting fees was read and adopted. The accounts against several oxpatients were read over, and the (Secretary was instructed upon what ' steps he should take in regard to them. Mr J..8. Keith was appointed visiting member for the month, and qttbe meeting closed.
