There is one feature of the Building , [Regulations of the Borongh of Musterion which will prove h great hardship to owners of adjoining buildings when the roofing clause comes into force. The regulations provide that any building that is within fifty feet of every other buildings must I* roofed wiih inuoiiibustibk material. This means that if a man owm three cottages which stand to gelber, but over' fifty feet from other buildings, lie would have to re-root the lot of them ; and if lie has only ut wood-shed at the back of his house, but within fifty feet of it, he would have to remove the shingles frum b. th. But if he were to put hiscottagi s' SO cluse together that ikey woiihl form one building, ho would escape the expense, though they would mill be used as three tenements, while the risk of, the lot being burnt would be materially increased, And if he were to attach his woodshed to the house, be could do what he liked with his roof, i t will no seen that a regulation which is supposed to reduce the risk ot lire actually tends to increase it in the direction we !iuvo indicated.
