At any second-class up-country meeting tho handicapperis undoubtedly quite justified in slating a horse of good class when it has to bo handicapped among a lot of duffers who compose the rest of the nominations, bub I am surprised at a Metropolitan Club such as the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club permitingMr Evett to crush a horse out of any race at their principal meeting ao as allow of one horse, and one horse only receiving the minimum weight of 6st, but such lias been done with Dudu in the Free Handicap at their meeting.
