Donedw, March 25. In the Windmill v, Gallie will case, the cross-examination of Mrs Gallie was continued from noon, and was. not concluded when- the Court rose. Its general tendency was in the direction of trying'.to elioit that improper relations existed between G..H. Walker who was working with and stopped at the houeo of tho Gallies. Mrs Gallie denied all knowledge of this and yarious other matters,
The Broughton Dispute.
Napier, March 25.
. Mrs Donnelly and seven other Natives were summoned to appear at the Resident Magistrate's Court in connection with thetroubleat Oniahu. The charge was one of forcibly entry on information laid by W. Broughton, None of tho Natives appeared. There counsel, Mr P. S. McLean, oxplained that they all came to town to appear in Court, but a messenger arrived to say that one of the Brougliton's ■ had [shot a dog belonging to Mrs Donnelly's shepherd, who was trying to stop her sheep from being mustered by Broughton's people. Trouble was-feared, and as the men summoned were all ohiefs of influence he advised them to return at once to preserve peace. It was after some discussion resolved to adjourn tho case for a month provided both sides appear before Captain Pearce, 8.M., to-morrow morning, and untertake to .withdraw their forces from the contested territory.
